We have arrived!

We finally arrived at our destination just over a week ago. Asturias is just how we all remember it. Still beautiful, peaceful, green.
We are currently renting a neighbours holiday house which is fab.

It has a great kitchen, huge bathroom, and spacious bedrooms too.

There's a nice outside space with a BBQ and seating area overlooked by a cherry tree, with lots of ripe cherries on it! And, of course, a wonderful view of the Picos de Europa mountains.

And they're off!

It was a while ago when my husband casually mentioned Asturias. He'd seen it on a culinary programme whilst working overseas (there's always a link to food somewhere!).
'Where?' I said, 'Never heard of it!'.
So I started looking...
I found the most amazing pictures of little fishing villages, deserted beaches and snow capped mountains. The fact that the region is a massive producer of cider (cidre as they know it) and stinky blue cheese meant I had to visit!
Before I knew it I was looking at properties to buy. There was a wide and varied choice, ranging from huge colonial style villas to run down piles of stones that vaguely resembled somewhere to live.
Then I found 'the one'. A beautiful farmhouse, in the mountains but still only a stones throw from the sea, set in 4 acres and a permaculture garden too. Did I mention there was also ducks, chickens and geese!
And so our journey begins...
